How will the new site benefit you?
The new site offers you
editorial control of your events . . . You get a free
password protected account, which allows you to view and
edit your existing events or adapt them to create new
ones!! You can even create a promotional poster
with the click of the mouse!! The site is fully automated, so your
event appears as soon as you submit it, and you can check it as well as search for other events you
are interested in, by category, time period, and post code. It will
save us all a lot of time.
How can you help us?
We thought it was time we offered the
same facility enjoyed by you guys locally, to everyone in the
country, and now we'd really appreciate your help in promoting the
idea. Please tell everyone you know, wherever they live, about
our new free service. If you can spare a few moments, there is a
paragraph on the right that you can copy and
paste into an email for us, to send to everyone in your address
book.

our catchment area they will automatically appear in 'the event'
publication.

We are sometimes able to offer flier insertion at a cost of just

When is 'the event' published?
Six issues per year - Dec/Jan - Feb/Mar
Apr/May - June/July - Aug/Sep
- Oct/Nov.
When is the deadline for artwork/copy
submission?
The deadline is
always the 15th of the month prior to publication. This is however no
guarantee of an advertising placement unless previously agreed.
What is the circulation?
Currently, 12,000 copies are printed and
distributed, but we believe because of the selective means of
distribution we use this is equivalent to nearly double that figure. Just
over half
this number are distributed by conventional blanket distribution. 1000 in Merstham, 1,000 in Godstone, Bletchingley, Nutfield & Smallfield, 1,750
in Reigate, 1,000 in Redhill, 750 in Horley and 1000 in Dorking, and we
are extremely particular about where they are distributed to. None
are wasted by being left in communal living areas, ALL reach their
targets. Of the remainder 1,500 are distributed by local schools and
groups to their pupils and members or by VOLUNTARY SUBSCRIPTION, ie. where people choose to take them from sited dispensers at one of our
185 outlets, or during events, with the help of our active supporters
and events organisers. Because there is no wastage, and because a
choice has been exercised by the reader, we believe 4,000 copies by
voluntary subscription is equivalent to 12,000 by blanket distribution.
We therefore estimate our circulation to be equivalent to 20,000 in
normal terms.

large, local or national, free or fee paying, for any age group. We
started it as a small local site in the RH2 post code area, attracting
over 1000 events per month in less than half a year and it is now
spreading out rapidly. Be one of the first to use it in your area, and
